Exon set up all company commercial infrastructure and obtained low cost government subsidised incubation premises for a start up industrial robotics company. Wrote the business plan supporting a DTI funding application for a project to develop a prototype machine and kick-start the business. Successfully received funding within 90 days for a £45k, 12 month grant.

Exon will remain involved with the business focusing on project managing the product development, handling commercial activities, developing a sales channel, all marketing activities and grooming the business for second stage funding.

London based B2B internet software company

Exon prepared a detailed DTI grant proposal for developing an advanced document exchange system utilising the Internet and obtained first stage finance through an SBS 9 month feasibility study grant of £41k. Reviewed business plans and introduced to several private equity sources, currently working to obtain additional non bank lending finance.

Essex Capital Equipment Developer and Manufacturer

Exon evaluated several grant programmes and then prepared a detailed SBS grant proposal for developing an advanced liquid handling robot. The grant application was successful and Exon stayed with the project over 14 months project managing the quarterly reporting, claims and final end of project audit to minimize any workload for the business owner.

After the success of this project Exon is preparing a follow on grant proposal to commercialise the protype that was developed.

Surrey based Business software solutions company

Investigating a joint venture for this 15 person software business in South Africa funded by an International development grant programme.

USA based Customer relationship software company

Reviewing an under performing UK sales channel for an American customer service based application software company with a view to developing partnerships with synergistic companies within their industry and finding a partner that is experienced and motivated.

Identified a suitable company that was similar in size and style to the vendor and arranged the introduction, facilitated all meeting and negotiated commercial terms.

Essex based electric motor manufacturer

As MD of the company ran a 3 year R&D project under the LINK scheme with a total project value of £992k to develop high speed/acceleration linear motors for the packaging machinery industry. It was the single largest award granted under this scheme and was in collaboration with a UK University and a large industrial partner.

Awarded a SMART scheme grant with a total project value of £314k over 18 months to develop the enabling technologies to demonstrate the feasibility of linear motors for opening sliding doors. The project was concluded on time and to budget and resulted in the company receiving a commercial contract from OTIS elevators, the worlds largest lift manufacturer, to design and produce a pre production prototype door motor.
